About School

The School of Earth Sciences was set up at the Solapur University during 2008 to initiate inter-disciplinary teaching and research programs. The hallmark of the school lies in using synergy between Applied Geology, Environmental Science and Geoinformatics to bridge the digital divide and promote knowledge-driven and job-led economic development of the country. The school currently executes research in various thrust areas which include water harvesting, mineral exploration, groundwater modelling, environmental impact assessment, natural resource management, disaster mitigation, climate change, seismology etc.
