About Us

BIRAC E-YUVA Centre has been established at Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Solapur University, Solapur, Maharashtra in the year 2024. E-YUVA Centre has been funded by Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) which is a not-for-profit Public Sector Enterprise, set up by Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India as an Interface Agency to strengthen and empower the emerging Biotech enterprise to undertake strategic research and innovation, addressing nationally relevant product development needs.

Our knowledge partners include:

          I. Bioriidl at Somaiya University, Mumbai, and

II. Bangalore Bioinnovation Centre (BBC) offering mentorship and support to start-ups and researchers.

In addition to BIRAC E-YUVA Centre the university has a strong research and entrepreneurship background, with funding from CSIR, DST, RGSTC, SERB, UGC, RUSA, BRNS, and INTI International University, Malaysia. University also houses the Uddyam Incubation Centre, supporting early-stage entrepreneurs.

Our well-equipped laboratories include Microbiology, Biosensors, Chemical Sensors, Energy Storage Materials, Functional Materials, Cosmetic Technology, Quantum Computing & Simulations, AI/ML, Molecular Biology, Tissue Culture, and Biotechnology Labs, along with advanced instrumentation such as Thermal Cyclers, Gel Documentation Systems, Biosafety Cabinets, UV-Vis Spectrophotometers, Cooling Centrifuges, ELISA Readers, TEM, FESEM, GCMS, FTIR, XRD, HPLC and more. These facilities enable cutting-edge research and product development.

The centre provides mentorship, infrastructure, business support, networking, funding opportunities, and training programs in biotechnology, entrepreneurship, and intellectual property management. We actively support prototype development, industry-academia collaborations, and technology commercialization. Programs like BIRAC Innovation Fellowships and E-YUVA Fellowships offer financial and infrastructural aid, while Entrepreneurship Training and Mentorship programs equip bio-entrepreneurs with essential skills. Regular industry-academia collaborations bridge the gap between research and commercialization.
